1/100 Kallamity's Garbaldy [Juggernaut]

It's been almost a year in the making but I've finally finished this behemoth. I had been working on it on and off and between other projects, primarily because it was such a daunting endeavour and I had to take regular breaks! It also took me quite a while to figure out a process for the painting (which you can find detailed here). Because it's such a special kit I didn't want to just do a normal paint job so I tried a lot of new stuff and learned some really cool techniques, which I was able to refine for my Imperial Knights.

All in all I think it's a bit too weathered, but I'm glad I did it as I learned a lot, and I'm glad I finally got to the end. The reception over on the Facebook page has been fantastic. I think we're on 70,000 people reached at the time of writing, which is insane. I never thought my work would be so widely received.

1/100 Garbaldy - Painting Process

Oooook. So I thought it might be helpful to detail my process with the Garbaldy. Hope someone finds it helpful!

1/100 Garbaldy [Juggernaut] Scheme

Just finished up the scheme for this. Updates to follow.. the legs are cleaned and primed, just need to put down a base coat. I want to finish my Kampfer and my PG RX 78-2 first though. This will be with lots of decals of course! And I'll be weathering it in the same way as Luca does his kits, though maybe a little less battered. Stay tuned.

1/100 Garbaldy [Juggernaut] WIP1

I'm a bit daunted by the warping I need to fix on my Zaku so I stopped that for a bit. I'm supposed to be panel lining my Kampfer but I can't bring myself to do that yet, So I started my Garbaldy.

My Recent Acquisitions - 1/100 Garbaldy

I've been a big fan of Kallamity's work for a while now, but his models have always been far out of my reach. Whether it was the limited availability or the high prices of the models, there was always a reason I couldn't get hold of one. I was browsing the website longingly, as I have a habit of doing, and I noticed that he only had 12 of the 2nd Run 1/100 Garbaldy's left. I originally wanted a Briegel as most people do, but the more I looked at it the more the Garbaldy grew on me. I didn't have the money at the time, so I emailed Luca to ask if he'd accept a deposit to secure one of the remaining models - it actually turns out he had 8 left, not 12, and he hadn't been able to update the website.
