Genestealer Cult [Commission]

Finished this Genestealer cult commission. Had a blast painting them, such cool models! Same idea as before - speed and low price point, just get them on the battlefield. Really pleased with how these came out. Contact me on g.manners@hotmail.com if you want me to paint your army for you.

Warlord Titan WIP 2

I've been working on my Titan on and off for the past 6 months. I left it alone for a bit because the clean up was doing my head in, but one day I decided to just get on with it and I'm glad I did! The legs are looking great and I'm really happy with the colour scheme.

I'm using the same process as my Imperial Knights, but I've added some steps because of the size of the kit, it'll end up looking a bit flat if I use the exact same process.

Imperial Knight Crusader [Freedom]

Finished this guy. Pretty happy with it, but I'm so over painting Imperial Knights now! The Warlord will be a challenge... Anyway, here's some pictures for your viewing pleasure. I always love the photography stage, I forget as I've not shot anything since my Acheron. Might try and do some little builds to get more photography practice in.

Imperial Knight [Freedom] WIP1

I've just finished this guy too. I'm just about to do the final photo shoot with my new setup, but for now here's some WIP photos. Exact same process as the other two Knights, and the same process I'll be using on my Warlord

Warlord Titan WIP1

So I got hold of one of these second hand, I left it for a while but I decided to start putting it together. I'm actually doing loads of creative stuff at the moment, but it never seems to make it to the Blog for some reason! I think I'm getting a bit lazy. Gotta snap out of it.

As with all resin kits I've worked on, there was lots of cleaning up left to do, and some parts I had to use a hair dryer to warp back into shape. Saying that, overall the cast is VERY good. Though you'd expect nothing less for the price!

Necron Army Progress Part 2 - Overlord & Immortals

Here's where I'm at with my Overlord and Immortals. I'm grouping them together in this post because I painted them around the same time. I've got a Doomsday Ark, Warriors and some Tomb Blades on the go, as well as some Deathmarks which puts the force comfortably around 1250 points with gear, which I probably won't exceed.

Necron Army Progress Part 1 - Canoptek Harvest

I started these a while back and I've been taking loads of photos for Instagram but I never got round to compiling them all together and showing my progress. I went through all of my photos and put them into categories - turns out I've taken over 150 progress pictures without really realising!

Brighton War Council Website

Hey guys & gals, really excited to announce that the BWC website is up and running. I've been putting it together for the last month or so, and we're really pleased with how it's turning out.

In the coming months we'll be adding battle reports, articles, tutorials, games day write ups, list analysis and all sorts of other cool stuff. I'll be posting up painting tutorials as well as some of our other experts. Head over there to check it out!

28.7.15

Imperial Knight Acheron [Honour]

Finished this bad boy. Very happy with how it's turned out, and I think I've done a better job than on my [Truth]. Learned a lot from these two builds, and now I'm desperate to do a Warlord Titan with all my new knowledge! Post is pic heavy...

Imperial Knight Acheron [Honour] WIP 1 & Gav's Update

Hey guys! I thought I'd post small Gav update along with my Knight progress. I've been doing lots of modelling recently, my Garbaldy is almost done, the Acheron is getting there, I've got a couple of kitbashes on the go and I've also made a dent in my 1000pt Necron army. I also want to start either my 1/100 Metal Gear Rex or my 1/60 PG Strike Rouge (or finish off my Strike Freedom). Excitingly, I've also possibly got a commission in the pipeline for the gargantuan Warlord Titan from Forge World. There's simply no time for all of the fun! Especially with all of the drawing I'm doing at the moment. I'm glad it's summer though, it's shaping up to be a good one so far.

20.4.15

Imperial Knight [Truth]

Got round to shooting this. Really happy with how it's turned out, can't wait to paint the other two. Might not do extensive WIPs for them as I just want to get them done, but I'll see how I feel. Also, go check out and follow Brighton War Council, our new gaming group. It's gonna be big! Currently just figuring out the kind of stuff we want to get up on the blog but there's some great stuff going on over there already.

8.4.15

Imperial Knight [Truth] WIP2

Here's the second part of my Imperial Knight work in progress. With all the base colours and decals done, it was all looking a bit too clean so I started bashing it up a bit with some weathering! I wanted to retain that classic wargaming look of highlighted edges but wanted it to look a bit battered and bruised like it's in the middle of a campaign. I took techniques I used on my RX and my Garbaldy and also techniques I used to paint my Deathwing Terminators.

5.4.15

Imperial Knight [Truth] WIP1

I've had an Imperial Knight kicking around for about a year now, and I've just not done anything with it. If I'm honest, it's because I've had so many other cool projects to work on, I just put it to the back of the queue. That is until we were having one of our Brighton War Council (check out the blog!) beer nights (meet up in a pub, drink beer and talk about Warhammer 40K and painting!) and we got talking about the Forge World Knights that they do. I was just blown away by these models, they look so cool, and I've got a lot more confidence with resin since working on the Garbaldy.

I thought it would be such an awesome idea for an army to have a few normal Knights and then one of these FW monsters heading up the Detachment. I always struggle with the normal sized miniatures, they take an age to paint, and this seemed like a perfect way for me to get an army together so I can start fielding my own stuff at our BWC gaming events.

Dark Vengeance 01 - Deathwing Terminators

This is the start of the 'something special' I've been working on - it's back on the Warhammer!

I bought the Dark Vengeance starter set a while ago because 1) I just had a really strong urge to play some Warhammer, something which I cannot explain as I'm very bad at it. And 2) Because there's some really cool models in this set, something that usually lacks in the Games Workshop starter games from what I can remember.
